Intraoral Camera
Patient education is an important priority for Dr. Preet – she wants to help you fully understand your unique smile and why certain treatments might be needed! To this end, our state-of-the-art intraoral camera provides plenty of valuable insight during diagnostic appointments. The camera itself is at the tip of a wand that our team navigates through a patient’s mouth. High-resolution images are then transferred to a monitor in the operatory so that we can refer to them when discussing areas of damage, particular services, or other important information that patients needs to know.
Digital X-Rays
X-rays can reveal a wealth of important information about a patient’s smile and what’s hidden beneath the teeth and gums. Here in Bellevue, we’ve invested in digital radiography that exceeds the limits of traditional film in many ways. For example, we don’t have to use a darkroom or wait hours for the images to develop – they’re available for viewing within seconds after capture. And, because of this technology’s more precise focus, we can also reduce radiation exposure by up to 80% compared to traditional techniques, which means it’s much safer for children and adults as well.
Panoramic Radiographs
A panoramic radiograph gives our team the ability to see all of your teeth and your entire mouth in one cohesive X-ray image, which is something we simply can’t do with a traditional X-ray. Like a panoramic on your camera, the image will be in one long strip, and this helps us gain a more global understanding of the relationships between the different parts of your dental anatomy. With this kind of image, we can better plan more involved treatments like a root canal or tooth extraction.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Did you know that around 30 to 40 million people here in the United States actively avoid the dentist’s office because of anxiety and fear? This is a common problem among people of all ages, and our team wants to help however we can. In addition to creating a very relaxing and compassionate office environment, we also offer nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) sedation dentistry services as a comfort aid. This gas can ease frazzled nerves for patients and help them feel truly at ease throughout their treatment. One of the biggest benefits of this technique is that it also wears off very quickly afterward, which means that it’s easy for patients to return to work, school, or other obligations without any lasting drowsiness.
